ABOUT
This project is entitled SEAGE (Sharing Environmental Awareness, Promoting Southeast Asian Change). As its name suggests, it seeks to promote awareness and care on social issues such as environmental concerns among secondary school/high school students through the aid of literature, particularly, short stories that are written and presented in a form of portfolio. It also enables teachers to execute a pedagogical innovation by making literature an instrument in promoting a concept which is usually being discussed in disciplines/subjects such as science and technology. Interestingly, this project is made more available to teachers and students who have limited access to high technology because it only involves local and simple resources.

This is a great place to tell your story and give people more insight into who you are, what you do, and why it’s all about you.

WHAT MAKES THIS PROJECT GOLD STANDARD PBL?
This project provides the opportunity for students to learn about the environment, environmental issues and how much it is important for us and to become a better citizen. In order to deliver the feasible solutions, students will need to both learn and apply the critical thinking skills that help them to think creatively, become more independent and self-directed learners.
Critique & Revision
This  Student have specific opportunities for feedback and revision during the project: after they have understood the climate change and how it affects to the community, after they have drafted the solutions and after they have presented their solutions.
Challenging Problem or Question
A clean environment is essential for healthy living. These days, it is polluted with contaminants and toxins, why will harmfully affect our health. People are suffering from the environmental problems globally. Those global environmental problems become global challenges, such as impacts of climate change, loss of biodiversity, over-use if natural resources are critically linked to issues of poverty and the sustainability of ecosystems. So these all issues become the challenging problem. In this project, students will explore the question, “How can we as a community solve climate change?” and they will help the environment from the viewpoint of climate change.
Reflection is included after each project stage is completed. As students learn climate change, how it affects to the community and how much it is important, they are asked to reflect on what they learned, how they learned it, and how their new understandings can help them address the driving question.
Sustained Inquiry
Reflection

For their language skills to be improved, students learn to read and determine the central theme of the text, and analyze the its development over the course of the text, and provide the objective summary of the text. As students develop the ways to solve the issue, they use critical thinking skills, communicate orally and collaborate.
Students will deliver an effective presentation on the ways to solve the climate change issue to environmental resources management organizationor environmental conservation department.
Public Product
Student teams will develop the most suitable ways to solve the on hand issue.
